Conventions Of A Thriller

Initially we looked at conventions of thrillers to see what made a thriller and how we could use these conventions in our own.

Some conventions we noticed :

Sound - A certain piece of music can build tension and create a certain atmosphere.

Editing - Lots of quick cuts, these speed up the pace, also the use of different camera angles.

Lighting - By creating shadows and using dark lighting - this creates a dark mood.

Strong violence

Physcological reasons behind main character's actions.

Audience hugely involved manipulated by twists.
